SEM: Hitachi TM4000+

Overview
SNSF houses a Hitachi TM4000+ Tabletop SEM. While the SEM is used primarily for Education & Outreach, SNSF users can get trained on the instrument and use it for research projects. The instrument features:
- 3 Imaging Modes: BSE, SE, BSE/SE Mix
- Low vac SE detector for uncoated samples
- Acc. Voltage: 5, 10, 15kV
- Spot Size Current :4 modes per kV (12 total) to accommodate any sample
Getting Started and Training Information
In order to become a qualified user on the Hitachi 4000+ SEM, you need to follow each of these steps in the order as listed here:
- Become a lab member of SNSF and follow the instructions to activate a Badger account.
- Review the Hitachi 4000+ Quick Guide listed in the Resource section below.
- Email nano-desktopsem-staff@lists.stanford.edu with your sample details and availability to schedule a one hour training session.
